The #Flashpoint Paradox aired and now we finally get to see what the consequences were of Barry’s timetraveling and creating the alternate universe.
I will list some of them but not all of them. But essentially, it is the world turned around. What was happy and cheerful is now unhappy and sad. But this is The Flash and he lives in Central City where it’s sunny every day and people are always smiling. And people did towards the end of episode.
This one was the most obvious. Remember how vibrant (haha) Cisco was. He basically lits up the room with not just his jokes but also his ingenuity? Yah, all that was disappeared after Barry went back in time. Lived his happy life while Cisco’s brother got killed. Cisco is all depressed and can’t seem to convince Barry to go back in time. But is enraged when he finds out when Barry egoistically changed the entire world after the events of the second season.
Cisco built himself a new powersuit and is now able to use blasts from the palm of his hands. Much like his Earth-2 counterpart. And he actuallly saves his friend Barry from The Rival. Yes, referring to Barry as friend while being angry with him for most of the episode is a good step forward for us getting our old Cisco back.
Keep in mind that #Vibe is one of the most powerful superheroes in the #DCUniverse. Will the writers tone that down a bit or make him indeed as powerful as his comicbook counterpart? And have I mentioned that Cisco would be ideal for a huge role if they ever did a Crisis in Infinite Earths.
Seemingly unaffected by the events of Flashpoint, Caitlin Snow actually is on her way to fullfill her comicbook destiny and is slowly transforming into an icequeen. Will she be #KillerFrost or stick to being the good person that we have come to know? I am not sure what if I want Caitlin to change. I am quite fond of her the way she is now. And by the looks of her face at the end of the scene where her frost powers manifested, she doesn’t want the change either. With Flashpoint resetting the Arrowverse the question that comes to mind is: Is Ronnie/ #Firestorm alive?
Iris West / Joe West
Iris and Joe are the heart of the show. With the two of them fighting, the show is shaken to its’ core. And it is the whole secret keeping that did it. Joe kind of didn’t let Iris know that her mum was still alive. But near the end of the episode, they are willing to work on repairing their damaged relationship. That’s really too bad. But it shows once again how important Barry is in their lives since he played a major role in them taking steps towards reconciliation.
Earth 3 Flash
When Barry wants to go back and fix the timeline, he is stopped by the Flash of Earth-3 aka Jay Garrick. Who looks just like his dad. Jay takes him to 1998 and has a chat about continously changing the timeline. Jay explains, using a broken cup, that even though Barry can try to fix it. It will never be the same since what is broken is just broken and that he can chose to be either a do over or someone who can move forward. And with that I hope they take out the time travel for a while. Mind you that I am writing TIME travel and not interdimensional travel. Because #Supergirl is still coming soon.
Consquences of Flashpoint throughout the #Arrowverse
- Diggle now has a son. Which is basically “Holy shit Barry erased a kid from existance!!”
- The kiss between Barry and Iris once again, didn’t happen!
- #KidFlash doesn’t exist. But the season is still long and Dr Alchemy did give back The Rival his powers back. So no doubt, Kid Flash will come back as well.
- #DrAlchemy remembers the Flashpoint timeline and can give people who were powered there ,their powers back.
- Anyone else noticed that The Flash now gets tired? I think it has to do with Eobard Thawne / #TheReverseFlash now living in the same universe and leeching speedforce off of Barry.
